Stephen Colbert speculated late Tuesday about the MRI tests that President Donald Trump revealed he had recently undergone.
The president went Oct. 10 to a checkup at Walter Reed Medical Center — which raised eyebrows at the time as it was the second visit in a year — and he confirmed this week that he'd taken an MRI scan, but boasted that the results were "perfect."
Colbert joked about the matter during his Tuesday night monologue.
“Quick reminder,” Colbert said. “People don’t just get an MRI."
“It’s usually something you only get when the doctors think something’s wrong with you," the late-night host continued. "Scans are typically ordered for disease detection and monitoring, or to detect bone or joint abnormalities.”
The White House declined to say what doctors were looking for in the magnetic resonance imaging scan, which Colbert said was "not comforting," but he said there could be something suspicious going on.
"Wait a second: bone abnormalities?" Colbert said. "If he aced it, that means his bone spurs are gone! Congratulations, Mr. President, you’re going to Vietnam!”
“Wait a second, what’s that in his stomach?" he added. "It’s the Epstein files!”
