After almost three weeks of searching for Perth’s $25 million Powerball winner, the lucky punter has come forward to claim their life-changing prize.
The man, aged in his 50s, forgot he had purchased a ticket from Garden City Lottery Centre in Booragoon for the $50m October 9 draw.
On Monday, he checked his slip but mistakenly dropped a few zeros off the total and confused it for a more modest $25,000 win.
Upon a visit to the Lotterywest Winners Room the south of the river man was shocked to learn of his eight digit windfall.
“I didn’t know there was a $25 million prize up for grabs until I visited Lotterywest HQ this morning,” the winner said.
“This win is unbelievable, more than unbelievable.”
