MOUNDSVILLE, W.Va. (WTRF) — Authorities responded to a reported child abduction at the Walmart in Moundsville around 5:24 p.m. on Tuesday, October 28, 2025.

According to the Marshall County Sheriff's Office, the case involved an 11-year-old girl who had been messaging her family, stating she had been taken from her home in another state by an adult male.

Multiple agencies, including the West Virginia State Police, Moundsville Police Department, and the FBI, assisted in the response. The Walmart store was temporarily locked down to secure the scene and ensure public safety.
