ANN ARBOR — Michigan receiver/punt returner Semaj Morgan has received an enormous share of fan criticism this season because of dropped passes and poor punt return decisions. All of that went up a notch after the last game. In the Wolverines’ victory over Michigan State last Saturday night, Morgan had two yards on two returns. He ran laterally when he could have gained yardage going straight ahead and another he called for a fair catch at the 5-yard line instead of letting it potentially bounce into the end zone. He also dropped a pass from quarterback Bryce Underwood, and he also got in the way of running back Justice Haynes and was run over as they collided.
Michigan left East Lansing with a 31-20 victory and is preparing this week to face Purdue at Michigan Stadium on Saturday night.
