KANAWHA COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A crash early Wednesday morning brought traffic to a standstill on Interstate 64 eastbound near Charleston.

The incident occurred shortly before 7:45 AM at the 57-mile marker, just west of the Oakwood Road interchange, according to WV 511.

Authorities reported that the left two lanes of the interstate were closed as crews responded to the scene.

Drivers are experiencing significant delays throughout the morning as traffic is backed up for several miles.

Officials have not released an estimated time for when all lanes will reopen.

Motorists are advised to use caution and consider alternate routes until the roadway is cleared.
