SALT LAKE CITY — In a few years, Gov. Cox envisions that Utahns will be able to walk (or ride, or skate) all the way from Bear Lake to St. George, or from Castle Valley to Hinckley.
Those cities and many more are included in the Utah Trail Network, which now has a master plan map . Cox revealed the map on Tuesday at the Utah Transportation Conference , where he gave the keynote address.
“We need to spend more time outside, more time connecting with people and more time exercising, and the way we do that is through our trail system,” Cox said. “The Utah Trail Network helps every Utahn commute, recreate and enjoy Utah. It’s a great way to build for future generations.”
Once the trails are complete, 95% of Utahns will live within one mile of the trail network according to the Utah Dep
