After a previous trial for cloud seeding, a new trial that was scheduled for Wednesday, October 29, 2025, in the capital has been put on hold due to insufficient moisture in the clouds, as per a report from The Hindu.

A statement released by the Indian Institute of Technology-Kanpur (IIT-K) on Wednesday (October 29) also confirmed this and stated that the process is highly dependent on the right atmospheric conditions.

The report further detailed that rainfall could not be triggered, as moisture levels were around 15 to 20%, IIT-Kanpur said. However, the institute added that the trial delivered “valuable insights.”
