India has sharply criticised what it termed a "blinkered analysis" by a UN Special Rapporteur on Myanmar, rejecting as "baseless and biased" the claim that the April 2025 terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam had any connection with displaced persons from Myanmar.
Delivering India's statement at the Third Committee of the UN General Assembly in New York on Tuesday, Lok Sabha MP Dilip Saikia said the remarks made against India in the UN report on Myanmar's human rights situation were "completely unfounded".
"I express serious objections to the baseless and biased observation in the report regarding my country," Saikia said during the Interactive Dialogue on the human rights situation in Myanmar. He strongly denounced what he called a "communal lens" used by the Special Rapporte
