Temperatures across KAKEland, dipped well below freezing across Western Kansas, Wednesday morning and wind chills slipped into the mid to upper teens. This blast of cold air marked the first hard of killing freeze for much of the Western portion of the state.

The strong north wind will keep temperatures down for Wednesday, with highs only in the low to middle 50s, despite a solid helping of sunshine. With a mostly clear night on the way, temperatures are expected to once again plunge as we head into Thursday.
