A 50-year-old Belmont man charged with a felony for allegedly threatening the priest of a Maronite Church in Millbrae has been found not competent to stand trial, according to the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office.
Alexi El Kadi had allegedly posted “Sunday mass at 10:30 all under Watch” with a countdown Aug. 31 on Facebook after previously threatening the priest at Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church. Prior to the threats, he had been asked not to return to the church due to his erratic behavior, the DA’s Office said.
El Kadi, who is being held on a $25,000 bail, will return to mental health court Nov. 4, to decide whether he will be sent to a state hospital to return him to competency, according to the DA’s Office.
