A Quincy man with multiple prior robbery convictions is facing a federal charge for allegedly robbing a Weymouth bank in December, holding a teller at gunpoint as his terrified coworker exhorted him to take cover in the bank’s vault, records show.

A document known as an information pleading was filed Tuesday in US District Court in Boston charging Glenn Legere, 46, with one count of armed bank robbery for allegedly perpetrating the Dec. 17 heist at Santander Bank on Pleasant St. in Weymouth.

An arraignment date hasn’t been set for Legere, who’s been held since his June arrest in connection with the case, records show.

His federal public defender didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
