A North Carolina man, Wellington Delano Dickens III , was charged with murder after authorities discovered the bodies of his four children in the trunk of a car at his home in Zebulon, east of Raleigh. On Monday (October 27), Dickens, 38, called 911 and admitted to killing his children, leading deputies from the Johnston County Sheriff's Office to his residence on Springtooth Drive.

Upon arrival, deputies found the remains of three of Dickens' biological children , aged 6, 9, and 10, along with his 18-year-old stepchild, inside the trunk of a car parked in the garage. According to the sheriff's office, the bodies had been there for an extended period. Dickens' 3-year-old son was found unharmed inside the house.
