AKRON, Ohio — A 44-year-old man has been charged in connection with the death of Clarence Shockey, whose body was found near railroad tracks in Akron earlier this year.

David A. Miller faces charges of murder and abuse of a corpse, Akron Police announced Wednesday. Miller was already in custody at the Summit County Jail on unrelated charges of assault and probation violation when detectives brought him in for questioning related to the homicide.

The investigation began April 9, when officers responded to the 100 block of North Union Street around 3 p.m. to assist another police department. Shockey, 58, was found unresponsive near the tracks and pronounced dead at the scene.
