People on one Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) benefit could be waiting 93 DAYS for their next payment. Housing Benefit delays in processing applications mean claimants could be left waiting up to 93 days for their money,

Around 1.8 million households currently receive the payments from the DWP . Some councils process new claims in as little as six days, but others take up to 93 days – leaving some households waiting months for support.

157 councils (45%) processed new claims in an average of 6 to 18 days, figures show. But a further 134 councils (38%), took 19 to 26 days on average. And 58 councils (17%), took between 27 and 93 days on average.
