Afghanistan was struck by a second earthquake measuring 4.2 magnitude on Wednesday, a statement by the National Center for Seismology (NCS) said.

The earthquake occurred at a depth of 32 km.

In a post on X, the NCS said, “EQ of M: 4.2, On: 29/10/2025 19:34:42 IST, Lat: 37.37 N, Long: 69.86 E, Depth: 32 Km, Location: Afghanistan.”

Earlier in the day, an earthquake of magnitude 4.3 struck Afghanistan at a shallow depth of 10km, making it susceptible to aftershocks.

In a post on X, the NCS said, “EQ of M: 4.3, On: 29/10/2025 14:43:24 IST, Lat: 37.33 N, Long: 69.93 E, Depth: 10 Km, Location: Afghanistan.”
