YOUNGSTOWN A Youngstown woman who was accused of endangering multiple children learned her fate on Wednesday.
According to Youngstown Municipal Court records, 28-year-old Melissa Kanos pled no contest to five counts of endangering children and was found guilty on all of those charges.
Kanos was sentenced to 180 days in jail with 135 of those days suspended, as well as credit for 45 days served, which equates to a sentence of five days in jail. Once released, Kanos will be on probation for two years.
Kanos's charges stem from an incident in August of 2025, where 10 children were taken from a home that police described as "deplorable."
