A 150-mile route that traces the shore of Lake Superior in northern Minnesota is among the most scenic drives in the Great Lakes region, according to World Atlas .

The roughly three-hour drive along Highway 61 between Duluth and Grand Portage has plenty of places to stop and take in the sights. The scenery along the route includes eight different state parks and several shoreline towns with restaurants, unique shops and art galleries, according to Explore Minnesota .

"Pack a lunch and plenty of snacks, as the stops on this route are all about the scenery," World Atlas' website says.
