Police say alert work by officials at a group home for elderly people is being credited with cutting off an alleged scam targeting the home’s “vulnerable” residents. Article content

Seven people, ranging in age from 22 to 48, have been charged with uttering fake documents in attempting to gain employment at the home. Article content Article content

“Due to their diligence during the employee screening process, the company identified the fake diplomas and reported the matter to the police,” a police spokesman said Wednesday.

“No one was hired in this case; therefore, no vulnerable individuals were ultimately placed at risk.”
