Thousands of users were reporting outages across Microsoft services and a variety of other products midday on Wednesday, Oct. 29.

Thousands of users reported issues or outages with Microsoft Azure, a computing platform and portal that houses over 200 services, and Microsoft 365, outage tracking website Downdetector showed. The outage reports spiked just before Noon ET on Wednesday, with more than 30,000 users reporting issues between the two services.

Azure said on its status page that customers across all regions of the U.S. may experience issues accessing its Azure Portal.

"We have taken action that is expected to address the portal access issues here shortly," reads the Azure status page, as of 12:56 p.m. ET.

"Users may be unable to access the Microsoft 365 admin center and see delays when accessing other Microsoft 365 services," Microsoft's status page said. Users also reported issues with trying to access Microsoft Entra, Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Power Apps and Microsoft Intune functions.

Users also reported issues with connecting to Outlook and some add-in services, the status page said.

"We've identified a recent configuration change to a portion of Azure infrastructure which we believe is causing the impact," Microsoft said in a 1:20 p.m. ET update. "We do not have an ETA for when the rollback will be completed, but we will update this communication within 30 minutes or when we have an update."

Downdetector showed a decrease in reports for both services around 1 p.m. ET.
