NILES — A Liberty trustee charged with felonious assault will have his case considered by a Trumbull County grand jury.
Devon Stanley, a Liberty trustee, Girard Municipal Court prosecutor and the county’s deputy clerk of courts, waived his right to a preliminary hearing Tuesday, a day before he was set to appear again before Niles Municipal Court Judge Christopher Shaker.
The case is now in the hands of the Trumbull County Court of Common Pleas, where a grand jury will decide if there’s enough evidence to indict Stanley on his felonious assault charge.
Stanley is still being held at the Trumbull County jail without bond.
The charge is connected to an Oct. 23 incident, where a Niles police captain was contacted by a Trumbull County Children’s Services Board representative, who was told
