(WJW) – Taco dinner kits sold at supermarkets in 27 states and Washington, D.C., are being recalled over a seasoning packet mix-up.
The recall was initiated after Teasdale Foods, Inc. received consumer complaints that the seasoning packets included with the taco kits instead contained cocoa mix, according to a company announcement published by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
The mix-up is a cause for concern due to the cocoa packets containing milk, which is not listed as an allergen on the taco kit label.
"People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume these products," stated the FDA.
