Letter: Reardon is trying to buy his way to mayor’s office

To the editor:

A recent letter to the Newburyport Daily News accused mayoral candidate Jim McCauley of trying to buy the mayor’s office in his campaign against incumbent Sean Reardon by contributing $18,000 to his own campaign. To the letter writer, McCauley’s contribution is not a sign he cares about the city but is an attempt to “buy himself a job.”
