When school sports, extra-curricular activities and field trips will resume is still unknown

Calgary teachers and students returned to classrooms Wednesday as school boards scramble to make up for instruction time lost during the three-week provincewide teachers’ strike.

In a video message posted to social media Wednesday morning, Calgary Board of Education (CBE) chief superintendent Joanne Pitman said the board’s top priority is “ensuring a smooth return to school that supports student learning.”

“It will take some time to return to regular routines,” Pitman said. “Our schools need time and space to reconnect with students and each other.

“As teachers return to work, they will be focused on teaching and learning in classrooms.”
