Former Manchester United coach Benni McCarthy has backed Ruben Amorim to continue to ignore the noise outside of Old Trafford and believes the head coach's work is beginning to pay off.

United have won three consecutive Premier League games for the first time under the Portuguese boss and are up to sixth in the table following wins over Sunderland, Liverpool and Brighton.

Since taking charge at Old Trafford, Amorim has received his fair share of criticism, with United enduring their worst-ever top-flight season in 2024/25.

The club spent big in the summer transfer market to bolster Amorim's squad and there have been clear signs of improvement in recent weeks.
