FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The California Highway Patrol Central Division Major Crimes unit is asking for the public's help to solve a 2021 Highway murder, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP says on June 15, 2021, around 2:30 p.m., officers from the Merced area responded to reports of a shooting on southbound Highway 99 near Franklin Road.

When officers arrived, they discovered the driver of a blue Dodge Dart was shot dead. Investigators say they identified him as 25-year-old Timothy Lamore Sheeler Jr., who lived in Winton.

Major Crimes detectives say they recently received new information and continue to actively pursue leads in the case.
