Iran claimed the gold medal in the men’s volleyball tournament at the 3rd Asian Youth Games after defeating Pakistan 3-0 in the final, while Pakistan had to settle for silver.
Iran’s strong side overpowered Pakistan in straight sets (3-0) during the final match of the event being held in Bahrain. Despite showing impressive form throughout the tournament and remaining undefeated until the final, the Pakistani team fell short against a dominant Iranian performance.
Iran won the first set 25-21, followed by a hard-fought 25-23 victory in the second set, and sealed the title with another 25-23 win in the third set. Earlier in the semifinals, Pakistan had defeated Indonesia 3-1, while Iran overcame Thailand 3-0 to reach the final.
