A group of asylum seekers housed in Greater Manchester has issued a statement in the wake of protests outside of hotels housing the group this summer.
The statement was issued through the Greater Manchester Immigration Aid Unit, a voluntary organisation which provides free support and in some cases legal advice to migrants and asylum seekers.
In the three-page, thousand word statement, signed by the Greater Manchester Asylum Hotels Group, they seek to dispel what they describe as 'misinformation' about asylum hotels.
It comes in the wake of a wave of demonstrations held outside asylum hotels across the country this summer, including in Greater Manchester, outside the Victoria Hotel in Chadderton and Cresta Court hotel in Altrincham .
