YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) -- A West Side woman who was charged with a federal gun offense has been sentenced to five years of probation.
Becky Poyssick, 45, was sentenced Friday in the U.S. Northern District Court of Ohio by U.S. Judge John R. Adams after a guilty plea in June to a count of making a false statement during the purchase of a firearm.
She was accused of buying a gun March 6 at an Austintown gun store and saying the gun was for her but the gun was really for her husband, who is barred from having a gun because of a prior criminal conviction.
Sentencing for her husband, David Poyssick, will be at a later date. He also pleaded guilty to a federal gun charge.
