Gopuff is offering $50 in free items to help food program assistance recipients who might be losing their benefits on Nov. 1.

The on-demand grocery delivery service will provide up to $10 million in credits to Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) recipients.

Users can get two $25 credits, one for use Nov. 1-15, and another for use Nov. 16-30. The credits are good toward SNAP-eligible items. There is a total of 200,000 coupons available for each period.

About 42 million Americans could lose access to the SNAP food assistance program , also known as food stamps, starting Nov. 1 due to the ongoing government shutdown.
