LAS VEGAS ( FOX5 ) — New tourism statistics from the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority released Wednesday show a months-long slide in visitation to Las Vegas continued into September.
Compared to Sept. 2024, Las Vegas saw an 8.8% decrease in visitors, with approximately 3.1 million people coming to the sports and entertainment capital of the world .
Convention attendance saw a steep decline, down 18.7% compared to the same period in 2024. Officials cited the absence of the MINEExpo, which was held in September 2024, as well as a shift for the Oracle CloudWorld show, which occurred in October rather than September, as it was last year.
A 5.2% decrease in occupancy and a 2.9% decline in average daily rate resulted in 9% less revenue per room than in September 2024.
