The Constellation Cup belongs to Australia once more – but only after an historic Series Decider extra time that ended in heartbreak for Diamonds star Sunday Aryang.

After New Zealand levelled the series 2-all with a comeback win in Christchurch on Wednesday night, teams then left the court to regroup ahead of a 14-minute extra time period that the Aussies claimed 12-11 in an absolute thriller.

DO WE LIKE EXTRA TIME?

For the first time, Constellation Cup organisers scrapped the goal aggregate factor to determine the winner of a tied series and replaced it with a Series Decider extra time.

But after watching it unfold in Christchurch on Wednesday night, it’s clear Aussie captain Liz Watson isn’t a fan.

And it’s hard to argue against what eventuated in that sloppy 14-minute period.
