CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- Three years after the death of Shanquella Robinson, her family and legal team say they are still waiting for justice.

The 25-year-old woman died in October 2022 while vacationing in Mexico. An autopsy conducted in Mexico reported she had suffered a “severe spinal cord injury and atlas luxation.”

Robinson, who had traveled to the Baja Peninsula with a group of friends, was reported to have suffered injuries after allegedly getting drunk and hurting herself. However, a disturbing video that later surfaced contradicted these claims.

Mexican prosecutors said they were able to identify one of the people Robinson was traveling with as the “direct aggressor.”

In 2024, Robinson’s family filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the six friends who traveled with her,
