ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Atlanta United has its sights set on 2026 after finishing 6-18-13 across all competitions and firing manager Ronny Deila.
It was the worst season in franchise history, and now the Five Stripes are searching for a new manager.
Nonetheless, Sporting Director Chris Henderson described this season as his toughest in Major League Soccer.
“Some players had good beginnings and faded,” Henderson said on Wednesday. “Sometimes it’s difficult as a new coach coming into a new league. It’s important to take the lessons we learned this year. Some of that is how we get our players to adjust coming from Europe.”
Overall, there’s enough blame to go around regarding the team’s struggles this season.
