Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif threatened to obliterate the Afghan Taliban after failed peace talks, warning of a Tora Bora repeat if terror attacks in Pakistan continue from Afghan soil.
Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif on Wednesday issued one of Islamabad’s strongest warnings yet to the Afghan Taliban, threatening to obliterate” the regime and push them back to the caves if any future terror attacks in Pakistan are traced to Afghan soil.
His statement followed the collapse of four-day peace talks in Istanbul, where Pakistan’s key demand — that the Taliban curb militant groups using Afghanistan for cross-border attacks — met with no progress.
