Maxine Noel, an Order of Canada recipient of Sioux descent whose works are included in the Canadian Museum of History, will also join the Greater Ontario Hockey League club as its Indigenous engagement director. Article content Article content

“We’re trying to educate ourselves to make sure we’re making the right decision,” team president Nick Aroutzidis said. “We are very well respected in Southwestern Ontario, and we don’t want to damage our reputation. We want to take it one step at a time and be careful not to step on anyone’s feet and show disrespect for any groups, especially Indigenous groups.”
