Head coach Ryan Oulahen described the North Bay Battalion’s situation this way to the media on Wednesday: “We’re close boys, we’re close.”

The Battalion is coming off of two straight losses, but remain a .500 team and at 7-7 are in second place in the Ontario Hockey League’s Central Division. That may be more of a statement about the Central Division than about the recent play by the Battalion.

On the other hand, the club is not getting outplayed or out-chanced in recent games; they just cannot score goals.

Last weekend, the tally was two games, two losses, and two goals scored. Nevertheless, Oulahen’s tone on Wednesday was very positive.
