The Edmonton Oilers will have to survive another stretch without one of their top forwards.

Despite hopes that he would be able to return from a wrist injury in early November, Oilers winger Zach Hyman is slated to be out for Saturday’s game against the Chicago Blackhawks and is in line to miss another week of action, head coach Kris Knoblauch told reporters Wednesday.

Saturday’s showdown against Chicago would be the first game Hyman would be eligible to play after being placed on the injured reserve at the start of the season.

“I feel really good, I feel close,” Hyman said after skating at Oilers practice on Wednesday.

The 33-year-old Toronto native fractured and damaged ligaments in his wrist during the playoffs last season, for which he underwent surgery.
