FAIRHAVEN — Fairhaven Police say a stay-put order at the Elizabeth Hastings Middle School has been lifted. A suspect wanted on an unrelated warrant had been pursued near the school, prompting the order, and has been apprehended.

An alert on the School Department’s website stated that the stay-put was issued due to the external issue involving the Fairhaven Police’s pursuit of the suspect “out of an abundance of caution, and there is no direct or immediate threat to the students of staff at EHMS.”
