The Epping sex offender Hadush Kebatu was given £500 to speed up his deportation from the UK after he threatened to disrupt the process, Downing Street has said.
The Ethiopian national, who had sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl and a woman, was wrongly freed from prison on Friday and was detained by police two days later.
He arrived back in Addis Ababa Wednesday morning with no right to return to the UK.
