ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - A toddler’s death in the City of St. Louis has been ruled a homicide.
On Monday, around 10:40 p.m., officers received a call for help in the 4900 block of Thekla. Shortly after, they received a call for an unresponsive 2-year-old in the area of Interstate 70 and St. Louis Avenue. The toddler, Bre’yeon Wells, was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The incident was deemed suspicious, and two adults, who were with the child, were questioned and released pending further investigation.
On Wednesday, the Medical Examiner ruled that there was evidence of strangulation and other injuries. Wells’ death was then ruled a homicide.
