WAYZATA, Minn. — Cargill is terminating 80 of its approximately 5,300 Minnesota employees, the company announced Wednesday.

The cuts will impact workers at the company's headquarters in Wayzata and come after nearly 500 local jobs were terminated in 2024 and approximately 8,000 positions company-wide. CEO Brian Sikes said in the annual report that they were making "strategic decisions to fuel growth" for the company and the customers it serves.

The company stated the permanent layoffs will take place on Dec. 31, 2025.

It is unknown if the employees are represented by a union or if bumping rights exist.
