Sault Ste. Marie Police Service charged one person Wednesday with providing sexually explicit material to and luring a child.
Last March, the Winnipeg Police Service’s Internet Child Exploitation Unit received a cybertip report regarding an adult communicating “inappropriately” with a child under 16 via a social media platform.

Based on information received, the investigation was transferred to the Thunder Bay Police Service’s Cyber Crime Unit. In September, its investigation found the suspect — identified as the accused — resided in Sault Ste. Marie. The investigation was then transferred to Sault Ste. Marie Police Service.
Sault detectives with the Technological Crime Unit carried out a search warrant, examined devices belonging to the accused, and formed grounds
