IRONTON, Ohio —
A southeast Ohio man couldn’t believe it after he won $2 million while playing a scratch-off game from the Ohio Lottery.
The winner, identified by the Ohio Lottery as J. from Ironton, bought a $30 Royal Riches Scratch-Off ticket and won $2 million. Advertisement
He told lottery officials he has won smaller prizes before but never anything like this. J. chose the cash option and will win $728,750 after state and federal taxes are taken out.
According to the Ohio Lottery, J. got his magnifying glass and sent a photo to a family member to “make sure he wasn’t dreaming.”
He plans to give some of his winnings to his family and his church, while also buying a new car for himself.
Lucky Choice on W. Nationwide Blvd. in Columbus sold the winning ticket.
