SPOKANE, Wash - A student brought a BB gun to Shaw Middle School Wednesday, prompting a lockdown and police investigation.
A note sent by the principal shows the school went into lockdown around 9 am because of reports of a weapon on campus.
Within minutes, police responded and the school was shifted to a "secure and teach", then cleared.
Spokane Schools says the weapon was a BB gun and no threat was made.
SPS reminds families that weapons of any kind, whether they're toy guns, replicas or BB guns, are not allowed on school grounds and can lead to serious consequences.
