General Motors will be temporarily laying off 700 workers at the Ultium Cells plant in Spring Hill.
These temporary layoffs are accompanied by more across the U.S., according to NBC News :

550 laid off in Ohio (Ultium battery cell facility)
850 temporarily laid off in Ohio
GM says there’s not as big a demand for electric vehicles right now, so they’re adjusting their production. Some employees are still eligible to continue receiving part of their pay and benefits.
