Dining alone gives me the chance to catch up on things and enjoy some of my favorite foods without the rush. These are spots I’ve been thinking about for my next solo-dining adventure.
Poke in the Park
If I want to be outside, I’ll grab a poke bowl from Off The Hook Poke Market (2908 E. Manoa Road). I’ll take advantage of the shop’s outdoor seating or drive up the street to Manoa Valley District Park. My go-to is always a cold ginger ahi bowl with sushi rice. The popular ginger scallion sauce makes for the perfect poke combo. If I get there before the crowd, I’ll grab a poke sampler platter or inari bombs — when available — for something extra filling. No matter what I order, the fresh fish always hits the spot.
