Halloween isn't the only seasonal celebration that's upon us — so too is the Day of the Dead.

Dia de los Muertos, or the Day of the Dead, is an observance from Mexican culture, typically falling in early November, that remembers those who have passed on from this life. Far from a dark and somber occasion, Dia de los Muertos is known for its vivid splashes of color, found in everything from flowers to "sugar skulls" as they're known, making the festivities as much about joy as being reflective.
