ABBEVILLE, Ala. (WDHN) — Relatives of Jerry Watford commonly known as 'Bob' say it will be hard to heal after losing him in a truck crash this week.

"Its such a hole and devastation to our family and community we will never be able to fill it he's just gone," His sister Barbara Morrison said.

Watford died after his log truck crashed into a lake near Opp Monday afternoon.

With Cedar Springs paper mill closing down recently, family says he was hauling wood for someone that he picked up in the Victoria community and was heading to the Alabama River.

The crash happened on Highway 331 at the intersection of County Road 38 where his truck cab slipped into the Frank Jackson Lake.

The crash is under investigation by Opp police and ALEA.
