LOS ANGELES – The biggest regret Chris Bassitt has with being in the bullpen has nothing to do with what has become an increasingly important role for him in the World Series.
He doesn’t miss the recovery required and the physical toll involved in throwing upward of 100 pitches every five days.
He doesn’t particularly miss the assignment that he still believes to be the most important on a baseball team.
No, Bassitt says — somewhat tongue in cheek — that what he misses most is the “rally beer” he and the other starters have been known to enjoy when the offence is in need of a run late in a game.
“Yeah, I can’t mess around with the other starters and have a rally beer and things like that anymore, so that stinks,” Bassitt said. “I love being around the guys. It’s very, very different
