CULLMAN, Ala. ( WBRC ) - A Cullman woman has been found guilty and sentenced to jail for pulling a shotgun on deputies.

According to Cullman County District Attorney Champ Crocker, 53-year-old Virginia Roberts was tried and convicted on Tuesday, Oct. 28 for obstructing government operations and menacing.

Crocker says the charges come from a case that occurred May 11 in which Roberts used physical force to prevent a Cullman County Sheriff’s deputy from arresting another subject. Roberts also pulled a shotgun and verbally threatened to shoot multiple deputies.

According to Crocker, District Judge Chad Floyd presided over the trial and sentenced Roberts to the maximum terms of 12 months and six months on the two charges.
